I’m fundraising to support the families of sick kids
In November 2021, we sadly lost our youngest daughter, Beth, to a rare and aggressive form of cancer. From when the cancer was discovered to her passing was less than three weeks, and she was only eight months old.
During that traumatic time, the Ronald McDonald House provided us a room so we could stay close to the hospital which allowed us to navigate the COVID 19 restrictions at the time and ensure we could be with Beth as much as possible. Most importantly, it allowed both of us to be by her side at the end. With the help and generosity of our friends and family, we have been able to sponsor a room at Parkville Ronald McDonald House for the past two years. Throughout the years of sponsorship, we've also worked to donate blankets and helpful items to Ronald McDonald house to provide each family with a touch of love and comfort in a hard time. We would love to continue sponsoring a room in Beth's name so that we can continue providing support, love and comfort to families who find themselves staying at the house.
On Sunday the 8th of March, the weekend after her Birthday, we will be riding a combined 262km - one kilometre for every precious day Beth was with us. This will be an epic challenge for us to undertake but will never be as hard as losing our beautiful Beth. Any support in achieving our goal would be greatly appreciated as we look to honour her memory.
