Charlie Mizzi had the biggest heart!
Charlie was part of the Ronald McDonald House Monash team since it’s opening in 1993. Working and volunteering hours upon hours to support our mission. His passion was helping people and the community, be that families with seriously ill children, supporting Ronald McDonald House maintenance improvements, or being the best raffle ticket seller at fundraising events.
Charlie was a wonderful BBQ chef and always full of ideas and always striving to improve the facilities for the families that needed to stay at Ronald McDonald House Monash. Also playing a huge role in the opening of our newest House program, Ronald McDonald House North Fitzroy that opened in 2018.
Charlie dedicated an impressive amount of hours over his 27-year partnership with RMHC equating to around 78,840 hours. He was a very proud ambassador and member of our community. Charlie's dedication to our organisation is unmatched, he has been with us since the beginning.

Ronald McDonald House relies on the dedication and support of volunteers year on year, with over 300 active volunteers working across our programs we simply couldn't do what we do without the Charlie's of the world.
Charlie sadly passed away in July 2020 leaving a big gap in the hearts of all staff, volunteers and families of Ronald McDonald House Victoria & Tasmania.

The purpose of the Ronald McDonald House is to provide a safe and supportive home-away-from-home for families when they need it the most. In 2019 Ronald McDonald House Charities Victoria & Tasmania supported 2,402 families. This wouldn't be possible without the dedication and support of our volunteers who provided 23,485 hours of support in 2019.
